So... I think I am the world's worst blogger! I have been so busy with life that I never find the time to post anything new! Well, I will catch everyone up with what has been going on with us for the last little while. Sorry to bore everyone with all the details!!!
Over the 4th of July we went camping with the Nielsen family. It was a lot of fun. Ryan has been putting me in for an antelope tag for the last 6 years, and I finally drew the tag this year! So we headed down to Mt. Dutton/Paunsagant to see if we could find anything worth shooting! It is so beautiful down there. It is about 4 1/2 hours away, so it was a long trip and an expensive one, but it was so fun! Hazen had a blast and we found some big bucks for me, so it was a sucessful trip! It was so nice to go camping and not have a million people by us. It is pretty quiet down there and the weather was perfect.
The 24th was pretty uneventful for us. Ryan and I both had to work on friday and then on saturday, we headed over to my mom's to have a barbeque and go back to my house to go swimming afterward. Dinner was good, as always. The kids were playing outside and all of us adults were in the house just visiting when I heard Hazen start crying. I figured he was just mad at Brooklyn or Paige or something, so I was in no hurry to get to him outside. I opened the door and saw him sitting/laying by one of the big rocks in my parents back yard screaming, with Brooklyn over him asking him if he was ok. So, I headed down to him to see what the problem was. He informed me when I got there "That rock hit me!" as he is wiping his mouth. I look at his hand and it is COVERED in blood! So, by this time, I am wondering what the heck happened. I carry him (more like RAN him) into my parents house, and see that he is bleeding really good from his mouth, but I couldn't where the problem was. He had all of his teeth, and his tongue was fine. Then I saw the front of his chin, and then his lip. Yep, he put his bottom teeth threw his lip. Ouch! It bled for quite a while and then we saw the hole on the inside of his bottom lip (sorry for yucky details). Sorry, I didn't have time to take any pictures during this bloody mess. Anyways... he was fine after a few minutes with some ice on the area and then he was back to playing. But he was super mad at that rock! After we cleaned up the dinner mess, we headed back over to our house to go to the pool, only to find out that someone had pooped in the pool. So, we headed back to my parents to slip'n'slide. Hazen had decided he had enough I guess, because he fell asleep on the way there (no nap that day). So all the other kids and my dad-yes my dad, did the slip'n'slide for the rest of the night! Fun times with the Holts! I was trying to get a picture of my dad doing the slip'n'slide but my camera died right as he was running to slide. What a fun Grandpa!
We went camping yet again with the Holt family the last weekend in July, up to Strawberry. It was a quick trip for us, we went up Friday afternoon, and came home Sunday. It was NOT a fun trip for me. We had a good afternoon friday and a good dinner. We put Hazen to bed in the trailer after he fell asleep in my arms around the fire. That was around 11 pm. Ryan and I headed to bed about 11:30. I hear Hazen start crying at 1:30 and I get up to try to get him back to sleep quickly- so he doesn't wake up all the way. Boy, was I wrong. He was fully awake and ready to play. He said he didn't want to sleep in his bed and that he wanted to sleep with us. There is not nearly enough room on that bed for all of us, so we moved beds at 2:00 in the morning hoping to make him happy enough to fall back to sleep. That was the beginning of one of the LONGEST nights in my life. He did not go back to sleep. At all. He kept trying to turn the lights on, or go outside because he thought he needed to sit by the fire which was long out. We finally gave up after fighting with him for 5 hours and decided to get up and go outside. It was getting light enough for him to play outside. Well, we got him dressed to take him outside and got him out to let him play and what does he want to do? Go back in the trailer because it is too cold. He is SO irrational at this point (so are Ryan and I) that we decide instead of letting scream to wake up everyone on the mountain that we will just take him for a ride so Ryan can go set the tree stand anyways. He was asleep in 1.5 minutes-tops. He slept the whole time we were in the truck, and as soon as we pull back into camp, he wakes up crankier than before. By this time it's about 8:15 am and still no one is awake in Holt camp. I was also feeling like total crap by this point, with some major sharp pains in my back (my lovely kidney stones), so I headed back into the trailer to lay down. Hazen followed me in and decided he would just "rest" on his bed while he waited for his dad to go back outside. He fell asleep til 12:30 when Ryan woke him up. I got up earlier than he did and headed outside. I totally slept thru breakfast, so my dad cooked some french toast for me and I was thinking I would start feeling better with some rest and food in me. Wrong again. Things got so much worse. I ended up taking some good pain meds and slept the rest of the day away. I ended up staying Saturday night (I was going to go home with my brother) and got up sunday morning feeling a lot better. Not to mention, it totally helped that Hazen slept that night :) We came home Sunday afternoon. Not the best camping trip this year.
So... in the mean time of July, I also headed back to the Dr. for my stones. I haven't had too much of a problem with them for a while, but lately it has been bad. He informed me (after $3,000 worth of scans and bloodwork) that I had more stones in each kidney. Not a big surprise to me, I already knew that. He gave me some options and told me that I have Randall's Plaques Kidney Disease. He said I could just wait it out and try to pass the stones on my own or he could do surgery to fix the problem-temporarily. I told him I would try to pass them on my own, but had no such luck. So, surgery it was. I had Lithotripsy to my whole left kidney last week, so it has not been a fun week for us (mostly me). I guess things went well, but I'm not too sure, the Dr. never came and talked to Ryan and my mom after the surgery. I am still pretty sore and can't do much of anything, but I am finally feeling a lot better. I have 4 burn marks on my back from the surgery. They put a lasor into my kidney and shock the whole thing, which causes the burns. They come from the inside of my kidney out to my skin. Not too fun :( I need to say a HUGE thanks to my mom who has been over to my house everyday helping with Hazen and keeping me comfortable. I don't know what I would have done without her. She is the best mom in the world. The ward also had meals brought in for 3 days which was a huge blessing. I am so greatful for all the people who have helped me so much this past week.
Well.... that just about sums up the last month or so. Sorry for such a long post! I am going to try harder to post once or twice a week to keep things up. I hope everyone is having a good summer so far!!
Sorry, for some stupid reason, my pictures won't upload! Sorry, I will try to add them later!
